As a young adult I went against my desires and moved an hour’s drive away from anyone I knew. I made the decision to do this because a job opportunity had fell flat in my lap and God put it there. After about a month of living what seemed so far away from all that I loved, everything in me wanted to cry and stomp my feet. Each day I found myself clinging to the words of Pastor Pierce. Not too long before this job was offered to me Pastor Pierce had told me that I would be moving, I would find a husband, and a few other specific personal things. Later I learned that around the same time Pastor Pierce ministered to my mother saying that she’ll be “happier than she’s ever been”. At the time it didn’t seem fast enough or even all make sense, but it was so uplifting to know God had sent word to me saying “Hang on. It’s coming.”
Now some five years later I think about what a struggle it felt like, to do the simple task that God asked me to do–trust Me and go where I send you. I wanted to question His reasons and to doubt my assurance in the decisions I had made that put me where I was. Only with much prayer from others and seeking God’s strength each day have I made it thus far. I can tell you that through God’s mercy and grace and my obedience to Him, God blessed me with a job that many will only dream of having. Because of timing and placement of God I met my husband on a blind date that should never have happened, have been able to bless many through my occupation with whom I never would have had the opportunity to work with, and have a strong Christian woman as a leader to follow and work with on a daily basis.
You can’t tell me that God hasn’t got it figured out because not only did He send word to me, but He took time to comfort my concerned mother by letting her know Nette will be alright. He is the All Mighty One who is in charge. We may not always understand the reasoning behind the actions in our lives but I’ve learned to take each day in faith and trust whole-heartedly in the Lord to see and receive the blessing He so eagerly wants to give us. And if God has mercy enough on you to send encouragement through His messengers as He did for me through Pastor Pierce, receive it. You can stand on it because it will come to past.
