Feb 24, 2008 - 2:00 PM
Let's CELEBRATE!!!! Join us for the Annual Anniversary Celebration in the PTRC Auditorium. Rev. W.J. Holland, Pastor of First UPC in Hammond, LA will be the featured speaker. A year ago we were blessed by Rev. Holland's call to check our Christian walk with Christ, an urge to avoid the "The Bird Flu". Even now, those who were in attendance, upon hearing any reference to "The Bird Flu", will begin to elaborate on how their life changed with hearing it. We anticipate another invaluable lesson in living for Christ Jesus. If you did not have the privilege of attending last year's event, be sure to order your copy of "The Bird Flu" from our Audio & Sound Department.
The Annual Anniversary Banquet will be held following services Sunday afternoon. The banquet is being prepared by the PTRC Dream Team; who, directly following dinner, will unveil their new Spring Desserts. Everyone is invited to taste their latest temptations. We encourage everyone to bring a friend, come and dine with us, spiritually and physically. For more information contact: Shawn Gray at: www.shawngray@kingdompeace.com

Revival
May 21 - May 24
DATES & TIMES:
May 21, 2009 - 7:30 AM
May 24, 2009 - 2:00 PM
There was an older commander in the armed forces who would before daylight rise and complete a rigorous PT Regimen and run several miles after which he would wake his recruits. Many of the recruits would complain while jogging several miles, after completing the PT Regimen. One recruit in particular spoke up complaining of hurting and not having the ability to complete the set course. The commander's response was simple, "Ah, come on boy! I've already ran this race once today." Despite his hard requirements and rigorous training the recruits did make it and were sent to war. One particular maneuver brought them to an unavoidable mine field. The elder commander halted and addressed the troops. He told them that to make across and survive all they had to do was follow him. He said, "We will do this single file. When I pick up my foot, the man behind me will put his foot in my print and the man behind him and so on. If you will just follow me we'll make it to the other side." So they started out while the building pressure, stress of eminent death and mayhem begin to take its toll on the troops. All of a sudden one of the men took off running and screaming across the field. He went for a good ways before stepping on the mine that claimed his life. But on went the commander. Occasionally another man unable to take the pressure would run screaming to his death. When the commander finally put his foot out of the field onto safe ground he turned in agony to see the remaining 18 troops behind him. He had started across the field with 80 men. "I only asked them to just follow me.", was all the commander said, as he marched on. This is a true event.
Just like the commander of this unit, God has only asked us to follow him. To put our feet in his footprints while we live our daily lives. He's ran this race once already and is not asking us to do anything he hasn't already done. Matthew 9:27-28(KJV) says..."And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou Son of David, have mercy on us. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord." It doesn't say that they were taken to him, lead to him, helped to him just that they followed him and came to him. Rev. Rapier asked us to ask ourselves "If two unaided blind men can follow Jesus, what's my excuse?"
I have never been in the presence of God that I did not leave changed. Not a building or body of people but in the presence of God. God has brought Revival to PTRC. There is nothing that we can hide from God and yet knowing us before we were conceived he still loved us. From the beginning he was thinking and planning for us, a people he knew everything about from the worst to the best. There is nothing that God does not know and yet still all he asks is that we follow him. He is here to mend the broken hearted, to heal, to help, to give life. How often is it said, "It would take a miracle to help me." Come hear the anointed word of God and just see what God can do in your life. Come to a place "Where Miracles Still Happen."
